How Does it Work?

At Sovereign Vet, we prepare clean oral capsules containing healthy gut bacteria. In some cases, FMT may also be given via enema, depending on your pet’s needs.

Our Donor Program

Not all gut bacteria are equal. That’s why our donor pet undergoes extensive testing to make sure their microbiome is safe and beneficial. Screening includes:

- Full health checks and bloodwork

- Review of medical history

- Comprehensive parasite and infection testing

- A Dysbiosis Index (DI) to confirm the right mix of healthy bacteria

This rigorous process ensures that only the best bacteria make it into our FMT capsules.

FMT is generally considered very safe when performed under veterinary supervision. The most common side effect is mild, short-term tummy discomfort.
